Our Family's Favorite Children's Books and Little Women

My little family loves to read!  I have been reading to my children since they were babies and they have always been willing to sit still and listen to a wonderful book.  Even when they were wiggly, bouncy toddlers.  When I was pregnant with my oldest, I started to build a children's library for him.  I purchased most of his books on consignment for .10 each!  I now have about 400 children's books in our family library for them.

I am currently putting together our new homeschool classroom and last Saturday I organized all 400+ of our children's library books by subject!  This is just one part of the fiction section.  I lined the back of this bookshelf with Toy Story wrapping paper!  I will post the photos of our new homeschool classroom as soon as it is completed.

I compiled a Pinterest Board of our family's favorite children's books!  This is perfect if your family needs something new to read during the COVID-19 crisis or if you need new books for summer reading!  You can view our favorite books here!

We also love Little Women at our house! My seven year old loves to watch the movies with me!  I grew up reading this beloved tale and watching the Kathryn Hepburn version of the movie.  My copy of the book that I had when I was a little girl was very large, hardback, and pink.  I saw the version with Susan Serandon in 1992 the day it came out on Christmas Eve with my best friend Ashley.  And I just recently saw the 2019 version the week after Christmas.  But I had no idea about the 2018 version until I saw an ad for it in Deseret Book during the quarantine!  I rented it on You Tube and fell in love with it and it is now my favorite movie version of Little Women!

Here is the amazing trailer!  You will fall in love with it too!

I put together this Little Women Pinterest Board to help you enjoy Little Women with your children!  It includes children's books versions, a coloring page, and unit studies.  It also has recipes including the recipe for the apple cake from Meg's wedding in the 2019 movie version!   Enjoy!
